Quarterback Matthew Stafford marked his Super Bowl LVI victory by purchasing a 1980s red-brick manor in Hidden Hills for $10.5 million, it's been revealed.
The Los Angeles Rams famously beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23–20 – claiming the championship of the National Football League for the 2021 season. Shortly after, in 2022, the Tampa-born sportsman and his wife, Kelly Stafford, purchased the eight-bedroom home in the gated community in the Santa Monica Mountains. However, reports of the sale are only surfacing now.
With its distinct red-brick façade and adjoining vineyard, the property is one of the most unusual in Hidden Hills – and consequently among the world's best homes. Dirt (opens in new tab), who reported on the sale, says that, alongside the eight bedrooms, the house has eight full baths and two powder rooms, and 11,000 square feet of living space.
The home's architectural style contrasts with the modern, newly built farmhouses surrounding the estate – meaning the property stands out amid the gated community. According to Dirt, the property was custom-developed for businessman William 'Bill' Hayes and his wife Susan Hayes, who transformed the home into a boutique winery.
According to the listing, the vineyard has rows of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes and can produce 300 cases of red wine annually.
Beyond the vineyard, the estate boasts manicured gardens and lush lawns surrounded by specimen trees. The backyard also has a large swimming pool and an outdoor kitchen with a spacious patio with lots of room for al fresco dining and enjoying the local wine.
Reports say the home was sold furniture-free, meaning Matthew and Kelly Stafford can experiment with decorating ideas on a fresh canvas. Furnishings aside, many of the rooms exhibit hardwood and stone flooring, rich wood paneling, and custom walnut built-ins that give the home a timeless feel.
Other amenities include a library, a wet bar wine cellar, and a gourmet kitchen, stocked with top-of-the-range appliances.
What part of LA does Matthew Stafford live in?
Matthew Stafford and his family reside in Hidden Hills, where they also lived before purchasing their new vineyard. Despite selling their former Hidden Hills mansion for $21 million, Matthew Stafford owns this new estate, along with two smaller homes (including one they purchased from Drake) in the same neighborhood.
The family also owns a Tuscan-inspired mansion in Orange County that is used as a vacation home.
