Brad Ramsey is known for his elegant interior design and collaborative approach with clients. This is his story, processes and design style.

'I landed in Nashville, TN in 1999 after leaving my Georgia roots to pursue one of my many artistic passions: songwriting. My journey eventually led me out of music and into the field of design,' says Brad.

'As a creative, I’ve always had an eye for detail and a keen sense of what makes an environment feel curated and collected. My design aesthetic utilizes my individual sense of style and eye for beauty, as well as the ability to create meaningful spaces that uniquely reflect those who inhabit them. My work is instinctual, from concept to completion, and driven by the pursuit of integrity, balance, and quality.

'I began my design career in 2008 at a Nashville interior design studio that went on to have their own feature television show on HGTV. I would eventually launch my namesake firm, Brad Ramsey Interiors (opens in new tab), in 2012. Since its formation, our team has built and reimagined homes and commercial spaces around the county with our intuitive approach to design and creativity.'

'90% of the work we are doing right now consists of custom builds. So, we are walking our clients through the entire design process from concept to creation.

'There are so many decisions to be made from finalizing architectural plans, material selections, cabinetry designs, and organizational considerations before we even dive into the creative process of the furniture and layers that make it a home.'

'I think I excel at walking clients through the creative journey and helping them design a home that feels true to them.'

3.

a. I like to immerse myself in the architectural plans and use them to establish the foundation of the design. But then more importantly (and also my favorite part of the process), I invest time and energy into getting to know my clients. I will have to make many decisions on behalf of them throughout the process, and the best way for me to intuit the right choices is for me to have taken the time to really learn about them. The design itself will come to life as we go, but having the right foundation keeps the ship on the right course and encourages a thoughtful, cohesive aesthetic.

'Our company mission is to capture each client’s unique personality and lifestyle through our design. That puts the onus on me to be intentional in my design and process.'

If you could go back in time and give yourself any advice, what would it be?

'100% it would be to trust my instincts! As a designer, it takes a while to find your voice and learn how to use it properly. Having a nuanced approach to leading a project while also being a good listener and teammate takes time to develop.'

What are some career highlights that you’re most proud of?

'We have had some amazing projects featured in magazines and had our work on a couple of covers as well, and while that is an amazing honor, I am most proud of the fact that I am about to celebrate 10 years since I launched out on my own and started my firm.

'Anyone who is a business owner can understand why that milestone trumps any individual accolades. It represents the blood, sweat, and tears, the highs and lows, and the hustle that you sign on for when you make the leap.'

What’s on the horizon for you and your firm?

'We are excited to be signed on for multiple new custom builds that will take us easily into 2024 and beyond. I get excited about the possibilities, the designs that will come to life, and the potential for press features.

'But more than anything, I look forward to new relationships with individuals who are trusting us with their greatest investment and I am honored to carry that responsibility and give them my very best effort!'
